Medicare Parts A and B is also known as Original Medicare. Most people don’t need to pay a premium for Part A. But, you will pay a monthly premium for Part B if you choose to keep it or don’t take action before your coverage starts.

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) Helps Cover


  • Doctor and other healthcare provider services
  • Outpatient Care
  • Home Health Care
  • Durable Medical Equipment (like wheelchairs, walkers, hospitals beds, and other equipment)
  • Laboratory
  • Diagnostic Imaging Services (like X-rays, CT scans, MRIs)
  • Many preventative services (like screenings, shots or vaccines, and yearly “Wellness” visits

*IMPORTANT* If you are still working or have other medical services like the VA, TriCare, CHAMPUSVa), you need to make a decision if you want to keep Part B.
